Freestyle Fridays - Recycled

This week's card is super simple.  I finished a writing tablet awhile back and kept the backing that had these two cute little dogs on it.  Kinda reminds me of my Frankii.

When Frankii is being stubborn and not in a listening mood he holds his head up like the dog on the left.  When he's happy and wants attention/affection he sniffs your mouth like the dog on the right.  This pose prompted me to purchase the tablet in the first place.  Perhaps these two are related to him.

The last page was glued with extra strength glue and left a rip in the thin cardboard backing.  I added a piece of Always Artichoke followed by some retired designer paper cut with a Memory Box Fence Die and added some more Always Artichoke cut with another Memory Box die.  Once that was done I cut it to size and added it to a base of Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from Winged Things, retired in 2005 I believe, stamped with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

A tip on sentiments - I inventory mine on an Excel spreadsheet in alphabetical order.  When I need a particular wording I go to the list and it makes it easier to find the stamp set. Saves me a lot of time so I can get back to cardmaking.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

For this week Regina you are missioned to use something around the house you might have been thinking of  throwing out.  It might be the top of a box of chocolates you may have received on Valentine's Day, a photo from last year's calendar, a picture out of a magazine....  You have full reign on the design and type of card, so Yes, it can be Square :)

See Ya Next Week!

Julie I have always wanted to try to make a journal so this is giving me lots of wonderful ideas. You are so creative and always inspire me to do more with my Stampin Up other than just make a plain card. Thank you so much and I love that you had the two little golden retrievers on the front of your tablet.

I knew from the sneak peek photo you sent that this was going to be a really sweet project! I'm excited about my mission, and my wheels are spinning--I just have to narrow down my options. I love the idea of recycling. Great project; great mission!!!
