Freestyle Fridays - Shaped Card

I love Wednesdays simply because of a new tutorial being posted on SplitcoastStampers. And this Wednesday was no exception.  I followed the tutorial here to make this card.

I took it a step further and made the hinge part in two colors - Perfect Plum and Going Gray (sadly long retired).  I took a side view photo so that you could see both colors.  Here it is full frontal.

The Stampin' Up retiring list has been out for quite sometime now and a lot of stamp sets will be gone forever at the end of the month.  One of my favorites is Baroque Motifs.  I've used it in many different ways and will continue to do.  Here, I stamped the image with Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I took a sponge and inked with Marina Mist.  Once the color was to my liking I wiped it with a paper towel to make the embossed image shine.  With a small daisy punch I made three flowers and added a silver self-adhesive pearl to the middle. Oh, and the whole base of the card was made with a scalloped Nestabilities.  It's one of those cards that is more striking in person.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina, this week, it's a square card!!! Wooooohoooooo! your absolute favorite.  Your mission is to make it a hinged one and let your creativity take it from there.

Freestyle Fridays - Tri-Color Embossing by Regina

Regina's Mission this week was to use embossing powder. And, Man Oh Man she really hit the mark on this one.  Not only did she use embossing powder, she used 3 different colors.

Go to her post here and you will see that she also used coordinating cardstock AND ribbon.  There is also a picture of what she did to the inside of the card which was an added challenge.  The creativity and use of products is just outstanding.  Well done Regina!

Freestyle Fridays - Embossed Flowers

Hello and welcome to yet another Friday!  Is it beginning to look like Spring where you are?  Trees are starting to bloom here and it is sure a welcomed site. For this week's card I went with Calypso Coral (a very rare used color for me) and Baja Breeze.  I must say I like the combination of these two colors.

I first embossed the flowers from Fabulous Florets in gold on Calypso Coral then took a sponge and applied Calypso Coral all over that layer to get a softer effect.  Then, rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch and applied it to a base of Baja Breeze, rounding the right corners.  Using a Nestabilities die cut, did one with Baja Breeze with the same image stamped in Versamark.  You can see it ever so slightly.  The Hello was just simply embossed in gold on Calypso Coral and applied that using Dimensionals.

On the inside Versamark was used again fully using the image on the left and then partly on the bottom of the right.

Pardon the bad picture.  I'm having mobility issues due to a slipped disc in my lower back and working hard at getting back to normal. I hope you find some inspiration with the above.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina this week you are to create using powder embossing.  Should you choose to make a card an added mission would be to add a little something on the inside.

Freestyle Fridays - Regina's Faux Patina

It's Friiiiiday! and it's Regina turn this week.  And my oh my it's a jaw dropper!

Regina's mission was to use the new to her Faux Patina Technique. Sounds like we both had the same results on our first attempt. I'm glad she tried it again because this card is worthy of publication and award winning. Hop on over to her post here and get all the details.  You'll be just as amazed as I was at first glance.   I'm so proud to call this amazing talent a Friend.
