Manly Mondays Week #7

I'm super late posting this week. The lighting that I usually use has decided to take a holiday.  Hopefully you can see this card clearly. There's not much to it I'm afraid.

I stamped the old gent from Golden Oldies in Black Staz-On and two more times on two different pieces of scrap designer paper.  Cut the shirt out and glued to the stamped imaged.  Did the same for the shorts.  The sentiment is made from the Oval Die ran through the Big Shot. The larger Oval is Night of Navy. The actual sentiment is computer generated. I believe the card base to be Speckle something or other.  I'm going through my supplies to prepare for a Garage Sale and unfortunately didn't have this paper labeled. Hopefully some of you will get a kick out of this card :)

The shedding has stopped somewhat but not before Wesley had a major grooming on Saturday.  Oh my, Debbie (world's best groomer!!) sure got a lot of hair off of him.  I was horrified at the amount.  She explained that it was "blowing off his coat" and there was nothing much I could do about it.  Here he is resting after his "spa treatment".  I'm sure if he could talk he would call it something else.

And what's a post without Frankii.  Caught him taking a nap, in his own bed for once :)

They are looking more alike everyday.  Next time I'll show a picture of them watching some geese that came for a visit next door.

A La Prochaine!!

Manly Mondays Week #6

Although I totally enjoyed making this card I found it quite challenging.  Getting the letters to come of the die properly was quite time consuming, never mind gluing them down in a somewhat straight manner!

I started with a piece of Night Of Navy cut at 11 x 4 1/4.  Scored that on the long side at 5 1/2. Then I cut 2 pieces of Bella Bleu Designer Paper at 5 x 4.  On one of those I embossed the fish from Nature Prints in Night of Navy Craft Ink, covered it in Clear Embossing Powder and heated with the Heat Gun.  Next came the fun part!  I used the Stampin' Up Decorative Strip Billboard for the letters, only using the lower case.  For the outside of the card I did those in Night of Navy, for the inside I did them in Bella Bleu. Once I glued down the letters for the front I added 3 Rhinestone Brads from the Ice Circles collection. Rounded the corners with the Small Corner Rounder Punch and adhered to the Night of Navy with Sticky Strip.  Now, to the inside.

As mentioned the letters were cut using Bella Bleu.  The other 5x4 piece of Bella Bleu was adhered to the opposite side.

The kids have had a fairly good week! Apart from the shedding, OMG!!, you can sure tell that Spring is here.  Sorry no new pictures of them this week.  We are too busy vacuuming :) :)

Manly Mondays Week #5

I apologize for not posting the winners on Saturday.  They've all been contacted and cards are on the way ladies.  Enjoy!

Keeping with the Get Well theme this week's card is

Started with a piece of Basic Black sized 11 by 5 1/2, scored in the middle and folded in half.  Then I took a piece of Old Olive and put it through the Big Shot using the Distressed Texturz Plate and attached that to the Basic Black.  I embossed the jar from All Wrapped Up in Silver on Cardstock Vellum and cut it out.  In Black Staz-On I stamped the bug from Bunch O' Bugs on the back side of the jar and adhered that to the Old Olive. The letters are from a Sizzix Die that is not exclusive to Stampin' Up. And voilĂ , this week's card.

After thinking about it for awhile this is what I added to the inside

I just embossed the lid of the jar and hand wrote:  Hope you put a lid on it soon!  with a Basic Black Marker.

We had a very nice day last week prior to a wind storm which brought on a really good game of chase the tennis balls with "the kids".

We found 10 tennis balls after the snow melted.  All the ones that went missing in the deep snow this winter.  Of course, they both want the same one!  Too funny.  Wesley, the one in the back, would be wagging his tail too if only he had one.  He has the trade mark Australian Shephard tail which makes him look like a little sheep or small polar bear when he runs at high speed.  They got a work out!

A La Prochaine.

Manly Mondays - Week #4

So your guy is sick and you want to try and make him feel a little better and cheer him up.  Why not make him something like this

IF YOU WOULD LIKE ONE OF THESE LEAVE A COMMENT, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO THAT I MAY CONTACT YOU TO GET YOUR MAILING ADDRESS. I'LL MAKE A DRAW FROM THE COMMENTS SATURDAY MORNING AND ANNOUNCE THE WINNER(S) THEN. I HAVE MORE THAN ONE READY TO GO!

The images are from a retired set called Happy Healing. Last seen in the 2003-2004 Catalog.  I used the Black Marker to "ink up" the OUCH! since that particular stamp has a band-aid on it and I wanted to use a real one.  The band-aids are the smallest ones that come in a variety box that no one seems to be able to use.  The base of the card is Creamy Caramel since it matched the color of the band-aid best.

On the inside I simply stamped the sentiment from Sincere Salutations, this set is still available.

Simple yet effective don't you think??

A la prochaine!

Bella Toile Challenge - 10 Minutes or Less

It's Friday and that means that Carole'Anne and Sandi have their 10 Minute Challenge.  This Week you are to use the Bella Toile Background stamp, Brocade Blue, Whisper White and another stamp set of your choice.  Since the LNS Stampers Group challenge for this week is a Sympathy card for my "other set" I choose Thoughts and Prayers.

As my base, I used Brocade Blue.  Made a layer of Whisper White and stamped Bella Toile in Brocade Blue.  Then I "direct to paper" with VersaMark and covered that in Clear Embossing Powder, used the Heat Tool.  Let it dry a bit, direct to paper with Versamark, more Clear Embosing Powder, Heat Tool.  Repeated one more time, for a total of 3.  It shines just like Ice!

The sentiment for Thoughts and Prayers: mixed Brocade Blue reinker with a little Frost White Shimmer Paint and applied that to the stamp with a sponge dauber.  Punched it out with the Small Oval Punch and made a Brocade Blue Punch with the Scallop Oval Punch.  Adhered those two together and applied to layer.  Brocade Blue Grosgrain Ribbon was layered to White Satin Ribbon.  Added Brocade Blue Brads and put that on the left hand side of the white layer.  Applied the whole white layer to the Brocade Blue base with Sticky Strip.  Because of all the embossing the white layer is really thick and I wanted to make sure that I stayed put. I'll be entering this one in the LNS Stampers Group Sympathy Challenge Shortly.

Here's what "the Kids" are up to today....

I just know they are discussing ways to get into trouble :):)

A La Prochaine!
