Manly Mondays Week #22

It's the last week of Summer! Keeping that in mind I wanted to create a card with a sunny day theme. This Dude's been out for quite awhile and needs to find some shade or a cool room, soon!

I haven't made a lot of "punch" cards so I went surfing and found a few of interest on Splitcoast.  This card is a case of a combination of those. None that I found mentioned the punches used so I may not have "cased" exactly. Just punched, eyed it, and figured it went well together.

The base is Pacific Point layered with a piece of Crumb Cake. I used the retired Sandy Shells wheel with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. The blanket is a piece of Notations Designer Series Paper along with the Hat (retired punch) and Bathing Suit. I ruffled the edges of the blanket by snipping it. The paper was perfect for this as on the back side it is grid lines so I just followed those. For the body I used Blushing Bride with the following punches: Oval Extra-Large, Photo Corner (rounded the corners with a Sanding Block - they looked a little pointy for me), 1"  Circle and Word Window. That's the Scallop Edge for the sunglasses and I drew lines with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. Once it was all put together I had  the brilliant idea of trying to make him look like he was getting a sunburn. I used a Q-tip and Ruby Red Classic Ink. Once I was done doing that I realized I should have left him alone since I am not happy with that part. Need a lot more practice in that area. I'm putting that in my "if I don't try I won't know" file.

A La Prochaine!

Julie, this is a really cute card! You had a good idea to "sunburn" the dude in the usual places that get too much sun, and I love the hat! I really miss that punch!
