Freestyle Fridays

Regina's mission this week is a color combination with a twist of adding a color of her choosing.  She has given us a special treat by adding a tutorial that combines two popular "must haves" in a very well equipped craft room.

Look at that anchor.  Hope she let's us in on how she designed it.  You'll have to hop on over to her post here to find out.  Kindly take two seconds to leave her a comment of appreciation.

Freestyle Fridays

This week I pulled out a lot of product to make this card and just realized I omitted to use a stamp.  I had trouble taking a photo to show the actual shine.  We've been hit with a lot of snow so there's been a lack of sun.  Before I show you the full card I'd like you to get a sense of what it looks like in real life (re: the shine).

The whole background looks like wet brick.  This started with a piece of white cardstock ran through the big shot with the Tim Holtz's Alterations Bricked embossing folder.  The Basic Gray Classic Ink pad was then brushed across very lightly until the desired effect was achieved.  This was following with the Tim Holtz's Distress Embossing Ink pad and clear embossing powder.

I trimmed it to fit onto some Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The flourish was cut with the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die with Garden Green cardstock.  I didn't like the color combination with this green so I sprayed with it Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.  Much happier with the result.

The flowers were made with the Bitty Blossoms Spellbinder die with Core'dinations Cherry Cobbler.  I've discovered a new love for rolled flowers since my friend Penny hooked me up with a quilling tool.  Makes a huge difference!

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina your mission this week is a color combination which will be Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray and.....  The third color will be up to you.  I know you are going to come up with something magical!

Freestyle Fridays

Regina's mission this week was to create using two or more Spellbinder sets.  True to form, she really has come up with something special.

When I first saw the above sneak my initial reaction was OMG she's done it again! She'll prove to you in this post what can be done with adding two dies together. Kindly take the 2-3 minutes to leave her a comment.  Even someone with Regina's immense talent needs some inspiration now and then.

Freestyle Fridays

I've had the Feeling Sentimental set kicking around the craft table for a couple of weeks now. Was trying to get a feel for it.  This is what finally came out of it.

The colors are Baja Breeze and Basic Gray.  The white paper with the sparkly starbursts is from a long time ago scrapbook paper bundle from Costco.  You can get a sense of how "blingy" it is by looking at the bottom of the photo.  That is a reflection of the silver off my counter.

3 sets of Spellbinders was used here: Marvelous Squares, Ironwork Motifs and Ovals.  Should you ever find your Spellbinders really sticking to your paper after you've run it through the Big Shot or your die cutting machine of choice, add some wax paper.  It comes apart so much easier.  This is the sandwich that I use: Platform, cutting plate, carstock, wax paper, spellbinder, cutting plate.  I sure love using my intricate dies much more since I've been doing this and I no longer grind my teeth when I try to pull the cardstock away from the die.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

For your Mission pleasure this week Regina you are to use two different sets of Spellbinders and make as many layers as you would like.  You can use two, three, heck even five colors.  The main outcome of the Mission is for you to have fun.

Freestyle Fridays

Friday is upon us once again and it's Regina's turn to Freestyle.  Well, she Freestyled in a way that followed last week's mission to reach deep into the catacombs of her designer paper.

From the looks of it, it makes you not regret keeping your retired paper as it blends so well with current embellishments.  Regina's blog post here will give you the full scoop on how this week's Freestyle came about.  Remember, you are always welcome to join in on the fun.
