Freestyle Fridays - Valentine's Day is around the corner

Like music, paper crafting has its Rock Stars.  My top 3 are Julie Ebersole, Tammy Tutterow and last but certainly not least Regina Andari

This card is a CASE from Julie Ebersole that she did in a post for The Classroom on Ellen Huston's blog.  This is my interpretation.

The base is Whisper White.  I then took a layer of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with the Harlequin Texturz Plate. Using the direct to paper technique I applied Tim Holtz's Spun Sugar distress ink.  In the Big Shot once again with a Rectangular Nestibility. I poked two holes and then strung some Silver Cord between two silver brads.

That piece was attached with two way sticky foam strip to give it some dimension.  The love was cut out from the decorative strip Join In The Cheer with pink glitter as the heart was with a Scalloped Nestibility using a mini clothespin to attach it to the silver cord.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

The Mission this week is to find a card to CASE putting your own spin on it.  You might find this extra challenging Regina since you are outstanding at coming up with your own designs and thousands have CASEd you.

You have to come back and see what she comes up with.  And don't be shy if you want to join in. You are always welcome.  Let us know and we will link your card.

Freestyle Fridays - Regina's Hue Choice

It's Regina's week here at Freestyle Fridays. She did mention to me early this week that she found this week's mission particularly challenging.  From the look of her sneak below I would say that she was very successful in the end.

As an added treat she used plenty of new products from this year's SAB catalog and the Stampin' Up recent mini release.  So please head on over to her post here and let her know how much her sharing her creativity with us is appreciated.

Freestyle Fridays - Masculine Birthday

It was my boss's birthday earlier this week which called for a masculine card.

He wears quite a bit of blue so I went with that.  Started with a Baja Breeze base, stamped that with a really old background stamp, Happy Birthday Greetings, in Midnight Muse.  I'm still not sure if I like these "new and improved" ink pads.  Did the pinwheel with Baja Breeze DSP.  The die is from My Favorite Things and must be ran twice through the Big Shot to get the necessary "wheels" .  Go here for a really great tutorial on how to put it together.  A glue gun, a lollipop stick and a brad was all I used for this one.  Now to figure out how to make them so that they twirl would be awesome.

******REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina, this week your mission is to use one color of various hues.  For example if you were to use green it could be Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Lucky Limeade.... You can throw in one neutral color for effect.   Regina has a fabulous Valentine project posted on her blog so make sure you drop by for a look.
