Freestyle Fridays

It's Regina's turn this week.  She's treating us to a peek at some new product - embossing folder and punch - coming out at the end of the month.

From this little sneak she did an amazing job with her mission of the color combination consisting of Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz and Bashful Blue (retiring this month). Check out her blog post here to find out what other products she used.  Regina always included her creative process so be sure to stop by and leave her a little comment of appreciation.

Freestyle Fridays

It's Friiiiday!!!!  Could it be that Spring is finally deciding to make an appearance around here.  Although the wind was a little strong today we managed to hit 20c (Regina, that's 68f for you).  Amazing considering the snow was still flying on Tuesday.  Gotta love this part of the country.

I'm anxious for my flowers to start blooming.  Frankii Dog (Dog is his last name) and I took a walk around the house today to hopefully find some green coming out of all the brown in the flower beds.  And lo and behold we did.  It felt like striking gold and Frankii, well, he was on the sent of squirrel.

This week's card was inspired by the hopes of a new season to finally arrive and a gift bag that I saw recently in a dollar store.  What did we do before camera phones???

I used a lot of stuff to make this card.  The colors are Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, White and Black.  I started with the Texture wheel in Basic Gray ink, added the colors to a layer of Black and ran that through the Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  Stamp sets used were Vintage Verses and Serene Silhouettes.  The Just Because was stamped with Basic Gray and added 3 Rhinestones for added bling.  This was adhered with dimensionals to add a bit of "pop" to it.  I hope you like it.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

You will need 3 colors for completing your mission this week Regina.  They are, yup, you guessed it, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray and Bashful.  You can use white and/or black if you so wish.

Have a great week.

Freestyle Fridays

It's Regina's turn this week and what a pretty spring card she has created for us.  And we sure need Spring around here and in those areas where they are still experiencing snow.  What's up with That!!  Enough is enough Mother Nature.

Just love where Regina added yellow on this one, as the mission was handed down.  Click here to see her full card and creative process.  Please let Regina know you are out there by leaving her a comment.  She'd love to hear from you.

Freestyle Fridays

I'm writing this post with a major amount of egg on my face.  I somehow completely missed posting Regina's completed Black and White mission from the week before.  I could not apologize enough to Regina when I found out yesterday.  I must apologize one more time: Regina, I'm so very sorry

Here is her card in its entirety.

Be sure to check out her post on this fabulous creation here. And it's not too late for you to leave her a comment.

---------------------------------------------------------------

My manager is off to have a baby soon.  Not knowing the sex the colors on the card below were chosen to keep it neutral while giving it a sense of Co-ed if you will.  This lady is not a fan of pink so it was definitely not an available choice.

Over 20 people will  be signing this card so it needs to be big.  The base is Whisper White with a layer of Early Espresso.  The designer paper is from a box by CK that I've had kicking around for quite some time.  Enough with the hoarding, time to use it.  The yellow is a long ago retired In Color, Marigold Morning.  The carriage from Buggies and Booties was embossed with Copper.  The French Script background was inked with Early Espresso that was first blotted with a scrap of photocopy paper since I didn't want the background to over shadow the carriage.  The flower trim ribbon was adhered with sticky strip.  This is the first time I've used it and I must say I like it.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is to use Yellow.  Your choice of hue and type of project.  Just use yellow, current or otherwise.

Have a look at Regina's blog here.  She's been a busy girl again this week and has some fabulous ideas for you.

Freestyle Fridays

It's Friday once again and it's my turn for Freestyle.  This is a card that was part of set that I made for a friend of mine for her birthday.  The set contained 6 cards with envelopes that I had stamped on.  I was going for the simple yet dramatic effect.  When I started out I had no specific layout/theme in mind except black and white.

It's really easy to see what was done here so there's no need to go into great detail. The stamp sets used were Bloomin' with Kindness and French Script.  Why Stampin' Up got rid of this one and came out with En Francais I will never understand.  It doesn't seem like it in this photo but I seem to recall embossing the flower.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

The mission for this week is Black and White with as many layers as you would like.  The catch, you can not use a flower.  You know there had to be catch in there somewhere.

I haven't shown you any pictures of Frankii for quite sometime.  Here are a few that I took trying out my speed/motion setting.  Quite happy with the result.  Frankii has a new haircut since it was suppose to be Spring around here.  We were hit with almost a foot of snow. (Hey Reg, that's 0.3048 Metre(s) for you)

Freestyle Fridays

Regina's mission this week is a color combination with a twist of adding a color of her choosing.  She has given us a special treat by adding a tutorial that combines two popular "must haves" in a very well equipped craft room.

Look at that anchor.  Hope she let's us in on how she designed it.  You'll have to hop on over to her post here to find out.  Kindly take two seconds to leave her a comment of appreciation.

Freestyle Fridays

This week I pulled out a lot of product to make this card and just realized I omitted to use a stamp.  I had trouble taking a photo to show the actual shine.  We've been hit with a lot of snow so there's been a lack of sun.  Before I show you the full card I'd like you to get a sense of what it looks like in real life (re: the shine).

The whole background looks like wet brick.  This started with a piece of white cardstock ran through the big shot with the Tim Holtz's Alterations Bricked embossing folder.  The Basic Gray Classic Ink pad was then brushed across very lightly until the desired effect was achieved.  This was following with the Tim Holtz's Distress Embossing Ink pad and clear embossing powder.

I trimmed it to fit onto some Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The flourish was cut with the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die with Garden Green cardstock.  I didn't like the color combination with this green so I sprayed with it Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.  Much happier with the result.

The flowers were made with the Bitty Blossoms Spellbinder die with Core'dinations Cherry Cobbler.  I've discovered a new love for rolled flowers since my friend Penny hooked me up with a quilling tool.  Makes a huge difference!

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina your mission this week is a color combination which will be Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray and.....  The third color will be up to you.  I know you are going to come up with something magical!
