Freestyle Fridays - St. Valentine is closer

It's Friday! and it's Regina turn at the creative helm. She found it a little challenging this week due to the size of the card not being her usual favorite.  By the looks of the sneak below she came through with an awesome color combination.

Be sure to check her blog post here to find out how this beauty was designed and all the elements she used.  You won't be disappointed.  And please take a moment to let her know how much you appreciate her sharing her talent with you.

Freestyle Fridays - St. Valentine is close

Valentine's Day is fast approaching!  Before you know it, it will be here.  Attempting to be ahead this year I thought a Valentine project would be a good idea right about now.

Started with a piece of Real Red measuring 8" x 9 1/4", scored at 4" to make a card measuring 4" x 9 1/4".  Adhered a layer of Designer Series Paper Everyday Enchantment that will be available beginning January 24 in the Sale-A-Bration campaign.  On Pear Pizzazz Cardstock letters from Lovely Letters were stamped in Real Red and punched out with a non SU heart stamp.  No attempt was made to get the letters perfect within the heart.  The hearts were then adhered with glue dots.  Pear Pizzazz was also used for the floral die cut.

On the inside I just simply layered a piece of Very Vanilla to make it more readable when writing a personalized note.  I just may sneak this into my husband's briefcase.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Well, most creative one, your mission this week is to make a Valentine card with the same measurements as the one above.  Haven't see you use this size in a long long time so it should be a little challenging for you.

Freestyle Fridays - Tissue Flower

Last week Regina was "missioned" to use tissue paper for this week's project.  As you can see from her sneak peak below she fulfilled her mission and some!

Head on over to her blog to get all the details and a how-to on how she did the flower.  It's a very helpful tip on how to use some of that tissue we all get with gifts at times. Be sure to leave her a comment.  She's giving away a free pass on Monday.

Freestyle Fridays In The New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!  My poor little blog has been so neglected over the holidays. My apologies to you all.  But most of all, a HUGE apology to Regina for not posting her last completed mission. To see how she fared with it PLEASE Click Here and kindly leave her your thoughts.  When you're there have a look around.  She sure has been busy.

It's that time of year when we like to thank all our loved ones for the most fabulous, and not so fabulous, gifts left for us under the festive tree or even mailed.  To start the new year off right why not send them a Thank You card.  Here's one that I came up with.  Sorry for the very small watermark.  My husband surprised me with Canon Rebel T3I for my birthday and a telephoto lens for Christmas.  Even the bells and whistles have bells and whistles.  Oh but what fun I am having learning and experimenting!

The base is Cherry Cobbler. To that I added a layer of River Rock that was first sprayed with 3M Easy Mount and laid a piece of tissue paper over it.  I used a brayer over that to get a flat, or as close to flat, surface as I could. This tissue was used to wrap one of my Christmas gifts so I will be using it sparsely since I only have one sheet so only those special cards will be adorned with it.

I got out my Tear Drop Circles Nestabilities and did one in Cherry Cobbler and River Rock.  To the River Rock piece I threaded Cherry Cobbler Seam Bidding and attached it to the back with a simple piece of scotch-tape and adhered to the Cherry Cobbler layer with foam mounts.  Of course, before all that was done I embossed the Thanks from the stamp set Thank You Kindly in Cherry Cobbler Embossing Power and added a few butterflies using the Embosslit Beautiful Wings.

On the inside I layered it with River Rock and stamped the flower from Creative Elements fully inked and stamped it two more times without re-inking.  I really like this effect for inside a card.

********REGINA'S MISSION********

Regina, your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, and I PROMISE to post it next week, is to make a 'thanks' project for someone special in your life.  Your challenge will be to use tissue paper in some form or other.

Regina has been super busy making tutorials for Craft Project Central.  If you are not familiar with it Click Here for a chance to get a free pass.  So hurry, time is running out to enter.
